Founded in 2013 by retail property executive Mike Rodel, EMRE brings together more than three decades of experience in shopping centre development, leasing and investment. COMPLETED DEVELOPMENTS
EMRE has completed six shopping centre developments across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Botswana.
Recent developments include:

Lobatse Junction, Botswana – 8,500m² SPAR-anchored convenience centre developed in partnership with Time Projects.

Letsheng Mall, Orange Farm, Gauteng – 10,500m² Pick n Pay-anchored convenience centre developed by Edilcon.

Riverstone Mall, Meyerton, Gauteng – 20,000m² Checkers FreshX-anchored convenience centre developed by Alley Roads.
The latest project originated by EMRE is the R420 million Fleurhof Mall, opening in August 2026. The 22,500m² regional convenience shopping centre is anchored by Shoprite and Pick n Pay and is being developed by Masingita Group and Abcon Developments.
Today, EMRE's completed developments represent more than 80,000m² of modern retail space, demonstrating the company's ability to originate opportunities and deliver successful projects through partnerships with leading developers, investors and national retailers.
EMRE, in partnership with the Motseng Investment Group led by Ipeleng Mkhari, has established Motseng EMRE Property Investment Holdings, a managed permanent capital vehicle focused on the development, ownership and long-term management of convenience shopping centres throughout South Africa.
The platform combines EMRE's specialist retail development expertise with Motseng's investment capability to create a scalable development business focused on delivering sustainable retail infrastructure to underserved communities.
The current secured development pipeline extends across KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Gauteng and the Free State, with projects scheduled for delivery from 2028 onwards.
